Kurdish Federation in the UK calls for political & economic sanctions on Iran

Kurdish Federation in the UK (Fed-Bir) strongly condemns the execution of four Kurdish political activists along with Iranian male prisoner in Iran and appeals to the EU and its members to place pressure through political and economical sanction on Iranian Regime to cease the execution of Kurdish Political Prisoners.

The four Kurdish political prisoners – Farzad Kamangar, Ali Heydarian, Farhad Vakili, Shirin Alam-Huloo were hanged on Sunday, 9th May at Evin prison in Tehran. Neither their lawyers nor the families of them were informed of the executions. Their bodies have not been given to their families yet.

The brutalities of the barbaric Iranian Regime against the Kurdish political prisoners were put in writing by two Kurdish human rights activists who were executed recently. Farzad Kamangar was a teacher. According to the letter he wrote, he was repeatedly tortured following his arrest in May 2006. He was whipped, held in a freezing cold room and guards played ‘football’ with his body, surrounding him and pummelling him as he was ’passed ’ between guards. Continue reading
